I think it depends on where you’re at, how emotionally tied to the issue you’re asking about, etc. I do readings for myself all the time, and find them really helpful. Often I’ll pick up on something, then get it confirmed when someone else reads for me. But then there’s other times when I know I’m not getting it, because I’m being too darn stubborn, or I’m too close to the issue to see it properly. Then I ask questions to that end, to try and become more honest with myself and recognize what things are “blocking” me to keep me in the dark (you know pride, selfishness, just being plain “pig headed”!)

    Thats a good point Jammy. Sometimes we are to close to a situation to really get a good reading on things. Personally I go to get a reading from someone else when its something i hold to close to the heart so I cna make sure that I am not reading into the things i want to hear.

I agree that the reader can be too involved in something to be able to see or be open to the reflections in the cards. When I’m stuck in that spot, I do the reading anyway, keep it in my journal, and then refer back to it when I can see more clearly.
